Convox Newsletter: Feature Highlights, Releases, v2 Rack and v3 Racks
Hello Convox Community,
As we move through August, we're excited to bring you the latest news and updates from Convox. Our team has been hard at work, focusing on improving the platform's flexibility, security, and user experience. This month's updates are packed with new features and enhancements designed to streamline your workflows, improve your resource management, and offer greater control over your environments.
Feature Highlights
Console
- EKS Endpoint Privacy Settings - We've added a new feature in the Console that allows you to configure access settings for your Kubernetes API server endpoint for EKS clusters. Easily manage your endpoint privacy directly from the new Security tab in Rack Settings, providing you with greater control over your cluster security.
- Discord Notification Integration - Stay connected and informed with our new Discord notification integration. You can now configure the Console to send real-time updates and alerts about Rack events directly to your Discord channels. This feature ensures you and your team are always up-to-date with the latest developments in your environment.
- Dashboard and Rack Page UI Enhancement - We’ve made several improvements to the Console's UI, allowing for a more customizable experience. You can now expand or contract rack HUDs into a list view, making it easier to monitor and manage your resources based on your specific needs. These updates are part of our ongoing effort to enhance dashboard functionality and improve your overall user experience. Stay tuned for more UI/UX enhancements coming your way!
v3 Racks
- Wildcard Certificate Reuse for Multiple Applications - Managing SSL certificates just got easier! Convox now supports the use of a single wildcard certificate across multiple applications within your racks. This enhancement simplifies SSL management, reduces administrative overhead, and strengthens security by allowing multiple applications to share a single certificate without the need to handle multiple certificates individually.
- Custom Images for Convox Resources - We've introduced the ability to specify custom images for databases and caches, providing you with the flexibility to use tailored configurations. This update enables you to optimize databases with unique extensions or specialized setups, better aligning your infrastructure with your application's specific requirements.
v2 Racks
- Resource Environment Variables for
convox run
Command - We’ve enhanced the convox run
command to automatically include resource environment variables in the new service container. This improvement simplifies script execution and automated actions, ensuring that linked resources have immediate access to the necessary authentication and access environment variables, streamlining your workflows and boosting efficiency.
